We'll have both blackboards and computer projection equipment available for talks.
If you’re on campus or near the square, you can get around easily on foot. Getting out to West Jackson Avenue or other areas of town is most easily done by car. There is limited bus service on Saturday only, described at the Oxford-University Transit website.
There are now nearly a dozen different taxi services in town. You’ll find their phone numbers at http://visitoxfordms.com/about-oxford/directions-transportation/
We can help arrange carpools for Sunday if necessary. (If you so need, let us know Saturday by around lunchtime.)
Some general information about parking at Ole Miss is available. Currently, construction projects have closed some roads on campus, as this link shows in red.
No parking permits are required on the weekend. It's likely that you'll be able to park at the Circle, which is right by Hume Hall.
Hotels in Oxford fill up quickly on autumn weekends, even without a home football game. We recommend booking early.
The Inn at Ole Miss is an on-campus option. The block of rooms we'd reserved for the conference has been released, but you may still be able to get a room.
You’ll find a comprehensive list of lodging options, including B&Bs, at http://visitoxfordms.com/where-to-stay/ .
There are two relatively new hotels within pleasant walking distance to campus.
The Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express on West Jackson Avenue share a parking lot. Campus access is easy by car. The 1.5 miles to Hume Hall is walkable, though not necessarily pleasant.
Also on W. Jackson Ave, across the street from the two listed above:
On the east side of town, about a 10 minute drive to campus, is another Hampton Inn.
We plan to provide lunch on Saturday, and a light dinner at the reception on Saturday.
Apart from that, there are lots of food options around the Square, an easy walk from the University. See this site for more information.
